2022 Erie to Pittsburgh Trail Summit

September 16th, 2022

36 individuals joined the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail Alliance on September 16th for our second bi-annual trail summit. This summit brings together trail managers, municipal officials, and outdoor recreation professionals to help celebrate trails in our region. This year's summit was hosted in person at the Inn at Lenape in Ford City, PA.

This summit is funded in part by WeConserve and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Pennsylvania Trails Program funded through the Federal Highway Administration and the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail Alliance.

Summit Schedule

8:00am - Doors Open & Exhibitor Hour

9:00am - Welcome & Opening Panel - Future of Trails - This panel will focus on how trails have been affected by the pandemic and how the businesses and communities are changing.

Break Out 1 -

Building a Community Around Trails - Using social media and community outreach to build a robust and engaging trail user community.

 

Empowering Your Volunteers - Creating a team of individuals to be your eyes and ears on the trail to address maintenance and community needs.

Break Out 2 - 

Building Your Trail to Last - focusing on sustainable practices to incorporate into your trail development to address maintenance issues. 

 

Advocating for Your Trails - Engaging local officials to garner support, attract funding, and implement policy benefitting your trails.

 

LUNCH - Lunch is included with you ticket. Please note any dietary needs at time of registration.

 

Mobile Workshop

Building Trails for Safety and Creativity - Looking at two unique trail projects, how to address safety concerns as you develop your trail, while still maintaining a unique experience.
